Caring for our Environment

Running a successful business today is not just about what food you put on the table it's just as important that the customer knows where that food has come from and what was used to produce it! That's why at The Falls Retreat we pride ourselves on using as much as we can from our gardens and have a paddock to plate ethos.

Brad and his team are passionate about serving up the freshest ingredients they can and that is why our menu changes with the seasons. Come and take a look around our gardens, visit our chickens and see if you can guess what is coming out of the garden next or even better why not sign up and take part in one of our gardening workshops.

Leaving a Better Future For Our Kids

We understand the importance of family and the community around us and take it upon ourselves to embrace this in whatever way we can. We are very passionate about giving back to the earth and we try to run our business sustainably by reducing waste, having a large compost and recycling as much as we can. We also run a "Barter at the Bistro" scheme and get very excited when our neighbours bring us a crate of kumara in exchange for a meal for two!

We have a wonderful children's playground that includes a tree house fort, sandpit, swings and heaps of room just to run around and explore. We also have a seperate kids menu.

Our community are what makes the Falls Retreat so special so we treat our staff as family, our suppliers and neighbours as friends and our local schools come and experience the art of cooking too!

We would love to see you soon at our Bistro, but make sure you make a reservation.
